Dr. Emily DiAngelo is a professional oboist, dedicated educator, and arts advocate and organizer. She has been teaching private oboe and piano lessons for 20+ years, including holding faculty positions at Cornell University, Ithaca College, Hamilton College, The Brooks School, and Luzerne Music Center. An avid performer, Emily is currently a freelance musician in Boston, MA. She is a passionate advocate for commissioning and performing new music by a diverse group of contemporary composers, especially female identifying artists. 

Emily believes in the tireless fight for equity and inclusion within the music industry and music education.

She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Manhattan School of Music in 2018. 

Emily studied oboe with Robert Botti at Manhattan School of Music, Paige Morgan at Ithaca College, and Dan Stolper at Interlochen Arts Academy.  Other notable teachers include Pedro Diaz, Louis Rosenblatt, and Lloyd Shorter. Read more about Emily’s life as a performer.
